With proximity to IT corridor
and a host of commercial activities, I think Velachery, originally known as Vedasreni meaning Abode of Vedas, would be one of the
best places to live down the line. With new apartments, springing up every now
and then, the demography of velachery has completely changed from a sleepy
suburb to a lively haven. Due to its proximity to the software district and
good connectivity to the city, Velachery is a real estate developer's delight.
It is a shopper’s paradise. You name it, Velachery has it. There is Naihaa,
Venfield, Arrow and many more. For those of you, who are food lovers, don’t
fret. There are some first-class hotels and restaurants like Rathna Cafe,
Dominos Pizza, KFC, MCD and Sangeetha. Good schools like Arsha Vidya Mandir,
DAV Public school, Pon Vidyashram School and Sunshine are present.
Velachery is set to change with a sprawling two
million-square feet mall coming up near Guru Nanak College. It is christened
Chennai Market City and the size would be the biggest mall in the city,
toppling Express Avenue, which has a built-up space of less than one million
square feet. That said, Velachery is all set to be the next Adayar in a few
years from now.
